The patch will roll out some time in April. Monday’s announcement didn’t say if the update for the 2016 game would involve two options for the user or if it would be a single resolution and frame rate going forward. The next game in the Ratchet & Clank series, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, will feature a 4K resolution, 30 fps “resolution” mode, as well as a “performance” mode offering a lower resolution at 60 fps.
